About

Dr. Eva Thomann

"Welcome to my personal website. I am a political scientist specialized in Public Policy and Public Administration and a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Politics of the University of Exeter, United Kingdom.

My  research focuses on the implementation of public policies both in multi-level systems and at the frontline. Research interests include Europeanization, street-level bureaucracy, member state implementation, private and hybrid governance, behavioral aspects of policy design and its effects. I  specialize in qualitative comparative research methods, including Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA). Empirically, I am particularly interested in public health policy, food safety issues, immigrant and welfare policy.

I completed my Ph.D in Public Administration, titled "Public health policy at the frontline: a comparative perspective", in February 2015 (summa cum laude). I co-chair the Permanent Study Group XIII on Public Policy of the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA)."
